Last week, the Biden Administration announced that more than $40 billion in American Rescue Plan funds have been committed to strengthening and expanding the nation’s workforce, including $9 billion for the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) workforce. These include state plans to increase the pay and benefits of direct support professionals, train workers, and recruit, retain, and expand the workforce to meet the needs of Americans on HCBS waitlists and family caregivers.”
Following the announcement last week, HCAOA met with representatives from the Office of Health and Human Services to discuss these funds. Stay tuned for updates as HCAOA learns more about how this will impact members.
