POLICY PRIORITIES
State of Home Care: Industry at a Crossroads The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) released "State of Home Care: Industry at a Crossroads" in February 2022, outlining six policy priorities around which home care industry leaders and policymakers must unite to address the rapidly growing demand for care and to help Americans age in their own homes with comfort, safety and independence.
POSITION
CMS Medicaid Access Rule (80/20 Rule) HCAOA took a strong stance against the CMS's 80/20 provision. Learn more about our response to the 80/20 provision of the Medicaid Access Rule.
POSITION
Veterans Learn more about how we support our nation's veterans and the legislation we support that seeks to increase the amount of care they receive in their homes.
POSITION
Immigration The need and desire for home care within the United States is strong and ever-growing. The 4,500+ agencies of HCAOA provide care for hundreds of thousands of people annually. Unfortunately, thousands more don’t receive the services they need due to a dire caregiver shortage. HCAOA believes this shortage could be reduced by streamlining and clarifying the backlogged and convoluted EB-3 visa process.
MODEL LEGISLATION
Home Care Licensure HCAOA drafted this model language to assist state legislators in drafting legislation intended to license home care in their state.
