Advocacy succeeds when members stand behind it and invest in the work that moves home care forward. Every year, HCAOA invests nearly $400,000 to retain dedicated lobbyists in 10 states, along with a federal lobbyist in Washington, D.C. Decisions that impact home care are made every day in statehouses and on Capitol Hill, and HCAOA is there to ensure your voice, your workforce, and your clients are represented in those conversations.
Your support powers the full scope of our advocacy. This year we have made real progress in states like Oregon, Indiana, and Connecticut, and we have advanced key national issues including caregiver tax credits, EB-3 visa reforms, Medicaid access (80/20) and rate adequacy, and the reinstatement of the federal companionship exemption. We have also expanded our work on licensure, pass-through requirements, quality standards, and stronger oversight of gray market activity. We have important work ahead in 2026, and your investment ensures we have the resources to continue delivering results. But advocacy costs are rising. And to stay strong in every state, we need members who believe in the mission and want to power it forward. |
