Webinar Scheduled on Medicaid Proposed Rule: May 25, 11:00 a.m. EST

On May 25, at 11:00 a.m. EST, HCAOA and the Association for Home Care and Hospice of North Carolina will hold a webinar to discuss CMS’s recently proposed rules and the development of HCAOA’s comments. Matthew W. Wolfe, of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC will provide the overview of the proposed rule. 

Recently, CMS issued a proposed rule that may impact several aspects of states’ Medicaid programs including rate setting methodology, improving transparency of rates including Medicaid MCOs, uniform benchmarks, and eligibility criteria. The most controversial part is the proposal to require 80% of providers’ Medicaid reimbursement to go to wages for frontline workers. HCAOA will submit comments on the proposed rule to CMS by July 3, 2023.
