The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently released the 2022 Fee Schedule for the Community Care Network, which includes reimbursement rates for home care services. The HCAOA VA Council was successful in advocating for increases in 18 of 20 geographic areas. The Council also requested that there be one dollar amount on the fee schedule in both the row and formula window. Throughout this year, the amount was rounded to the penny in the row, and providers billed that amount but were only due the amount in the formula window that was not rounded up. This resulted in provider overpayments. Per the HCAOA VA Council request, the 2022 fee schedule does not have a rounded amount in the rows used by the providers for billing so contractors and providers will be working off the same number, eliminating the risk of confusion and overpayments.
