Many workers are still hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. In an effort to educate frontline workers and address this critical problem, HCAOA is joining LeadingAge, in partnership with the Black Coalition Against COVID, comprised of physicians, nurses and other clinicians from the major HBCU medical schools and associations such as the National Black Nurses Association, for a national town hall with and for the aging services community for a national town hall with and for the aging services community. HCAOA Executive Director, Vicki Hoak, said "We hope our members will send out a communication to their frontline staff members to urge them to sit in on the town hall. This is where many of their questions will be answered." There will be no advanced registration required to participate and the town hall is free.
This national town hall will be broadcast in partnership with blackdoctor.org through its Facebook Live and Youtube streaming services. Typically the town halls conducted by BCAC and blackdoctor.org reach audiences of approximately 300,000. This educational event will feature experts on the pandemic from the White House, CDC, and a variety of nationally recognized experts. Save the date for March 4 from 7:00-8:30pm Eastern.
