Veterans Affairs Community Care Network contractor TriWest has announced that it isnow partnering with PGBA, which will replace WPS and CAQH in the claim process. HCAOA VA Council Chair Doug Robertson said there had been ongoing issues with WPS. Robertson said, “It appears that providers are not getting the service needed from WPS now that they will no longer process claims after May and this leaves providers in a precarious position as they still need claims processed while the vendor migration occurs. Once again, the burden of continuity of care for veterans falls on the provider community. The HCAOA VA Council has a meeting scheduled with the VA and TriWest this week and we will raise this issue in the meeting.”
TriWest reports that payments through electronic funds transfer (EFT) as well as electronic remittance advice (ERA) will both come through PGBA starting in June 2021. WPS is informing new providers seeking to enroll with them that they are no longer enrolling new providers and that they should instead enroll with PGBA.
