8/23/2022

Last week, the Ohio Department of Health released the Non-Medical Home Health Services license application.
View the application and instructions on how to file it here. It must be submitted by October 1, 2022.

Home care providers do not have to be approved by October 1, 2022, but the application must be submitted by that date to be in compliance.

As a reminder, you need a license if you provide the following services in a person’s home in Ohio:

  • Hands-on assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Assistance managing the individual’s home and handling personal affairs.
  • Assistance with self-administration of medications.
  • Homemaker services including meal preparation, assistance with feeding, mail, and laundry.
  • Catheter care, but not insertion.
  • Respite services for the individual’s caregiver.
  • Errands completed outside of the presence of the individual such as picking up prescriptions and groceries.

All members are invited to an HCAOA Ohio Chapter virtual to discuss the new regulations and the details you need to know to be in compliance with the ODH application process.

Join us for the HCAOA Ohio Chapter Virtual Meeting on Tuesday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. This meeting is free for members. Registration is required. To register, click here.

If you have other questions, please contact DQAClearinghouse@odh.ohio.gov or HCAOA’s VP of Government Relations Eric Reinarman at eric@hcaoa.org.
