  • Signature templates – HCAOA developed graphics you can easily add to your email signature to show your support for veterans and home care throughout the month of November.
  • Webinar - National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers: How it Affects Home Care Operations featuring Greg Link and Ann Tumlinson. The webinar will be held on November 14, 2:00 pm ET. All members are urged to participate in this free webinar that will provide an overview of the Department of Health and Human Services National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers and how this support is critical in improving client/patient outcomes. Speakers: Greg Link is the Director of the Office of Supportive and Caregiver Services for the Administration for Community Living and Ann Tumlinson is the founder of ATI Advisory and Daughterhood.
  • Legislative Action Network messages on HCAOA’s website that are pre-drafted to easily send to your legislators in support of legislation that will benefit home care and veterans.
    • Urge your legislators’ support for two bills:
      • Elizabeth Dole Home and Community Based Services:  This bill would increase the amount that the Veterans Administration can pay for the cost of home care from 65% of the cost of a nursing home to 100%, expands access to home- and community-based services for veterans, coordinates VA home programs with other VA programs, provides respite care to caregivers of veterans in home come, and more.
      • Enhancing American Retirement Now (EARN) Act: This bill would permit retirement plans to distribute up to $2,500 per year for payment of premiums for specified long-term care insurance contracts.
  • In the coming days, a Veterans Day press release will be available for members to personalize with the number of veterans your agency cares for and how home care providers care for veterans and show our support.
