![]() There is significant variation in each county’s vaccine rollout plan, so Michigan home care agencies are encouraged to contact their local health departments about getting workers included in the vaccine prioritization round. HCAOA has confirmed with the health department’s immunization section manager that any home care workers who don’t get immunized in 1A would be in 1B Essential Services, which would be administered through appointments at local health departments and in areas with more population density through mass vaccination clinics staffed with the National Guard.
When a person receives the vaccine, they are encouraged to download and use the v-safe app, which is being used nationally to alert the CDC to side effects and to send reminders about the second dose.
