Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Proposes $268 Million Dollar Increase in HCBS Medicaid Funding
Recently, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer released a supplemental budget request alongside her FY 24-25 budget recommendation to include $268.8 million to expand Medicaid home- and community-based services.
If adopted, these funds would expand eligibility for home- and community-based services, expand adult home help respite services, provide supports to strengthen the direct-care workforce, and provide infrastructure grants to PACE organizations.
These funds are available through an American Rescue Plan authorized 10% increase in the federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) for home and community-based services from April 2021-March 2022.
HCAOA will continue to monitor the adoption of the budget for our members.
