Member News: Connecticut Chapter’s Jonah Francis Receives Prestigious Business Award

Jonah C. Francis, CDP, CSHSS, President of Pansy Homecare Service LLC in West Hartford, Conn., and vice chair of the HCAOA Connecticut Chapter, was recognized recently by the Hartford Business Journal (HBJ) with its prestigious 2023 40 Under Forty annual award. Mr. Francis also chairs the Chapter’s legislative and public policy committee.

“I am very proud to receive this award, but I couldn’t have done it on my own and without the support of my team,” said Francis. He attributed much of his success to his mother, Pansy P. Francis, the founder of Pansy Homecare. “She was my first supporter, and she is a rock who is constantly by my side as well as out front as a leader who allowed me to lead the company she built.”
Francis, 35, has worked for Pansy Homecare for seven years. He lives in New Britain, where he graduated from Central Connecticut State University in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Francis told HBJ that his biggest accomplishment thus far in his career is “developing a business process, with situational-based training, to help caregivers and clients increase their likelihood of providing successful support and reducing turnover by 50% of the industry average.”

Every year for the last 27 years, HBJ, with the help of three independent judges, has selected 40 of the top up-and-coming young professionals who are leading their organizations. This year HBJ received about 150 nominations. They were narrowed down to 40 honorees who hail from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors and from organizations both small and large.

HBJ plans to celebrate the annual 40 Under Forty event at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington on Sept. 28.

“Jonah is passionate about home care and is a positive influence for others,” said Marlene Chickerella, chair of the HCAOA Connecticut Chapter and owner of B&M Homemaking in West Haven. “He is a strong member of HCAOA Connecticut’s leadership team and he represents the future of the home care industry. Jonah is very deserving of this award and the Chapter is very proud of him.”
