The HCAOA Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. has been set and all members are encouraged to come to the nation’s Capital to talk with their member of Congress about how important home care is to America’s growing elderly population and people with disabilities. “This year we are excited to host HCAOA members from across the U.S. at a Welcome Reception on March 28, at 6 p.m., at the office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, HCAOA’s new lobbyist team,” said HCAOA CEO Vicki Hoak. “The following morning an orientation session will be held for members to brief everyone on our priorities, which emphasize the value of home care and the critical role our industry plays in this country’s long-term services system.”
HCAOA staff will do all the work to set up meetings for each member with their respective legislators. “But we need members to come to Washington to advocate on behalf of our industry and the people we are serving,” Hoak stressed. Members are encouraged to register today, so HCAOA staff can begin scheduling meetings for you. A list of hotels and additional information on Advocacy Day will be shared in the coming weeks. Don’t wait! Join us on March 28 and 29 in Washington D.C. to tell the story of home care.
