Last Chance! Share Your Unpaid VA Claims Between June 2019 – June 2022 with HCAOA VA Council5/24/2023 HCAOA’s Veterans’ Affairs Council has received reports that home care agencies did not receive payment for veteran affairs claims that were submitted between June 2019 and June 2022, due to confusion regarding where to submit claims and to whom. One of the reasons that prohibits payment of those old claims is the requirement that claims be filed within 180 days of the date of service. Often, the efforts to resolve unpaid claims ran past six months.
When the HCAOA Veterans Affairs Council met with VA leadership in Washington, D.C. in April, they stated that Congress would need to change the 180 timely filing statute for that time period to allow providers to refile some of those claims. HCAOA’s VA Council is asking providers to send the total estimated amount of unpaid claims for dates of service of June 2019 to June 2022 and their NPI number to HCAOA VP of Government Affairs Eric Reinarman by clicking here. Aggregating the amount of unpaid bills will help the Council in determining the need and, if still warranted, the request to Congress for the change.

I have claims where they have paid short in excess of $26K due to them paying on my office zip code as opposed to the veterans home zip code.
