New Limeade Institute study fines 100% of employees are anxious about returning to the workplace. Top concerns are: exposure to COVID, less flexibility, commuting to work. New Wage and Hour Administrator - Presumptive nominee is David Weil, Obama’s WHD Administrator from 2014-2017. In the past, Weil has regularly targeted companies that used independent contractors (including in the home care industry) as well as franchise businesses. American Families Plan - Includes a $225 billion paid family leave component in which beneficiaries will receive at least two-thirds of weekly pay, with a cap at $4,000 a month. Reasons to utilize this leave include: serious illness, caring for a sick family member, or recovering from sexual assault or domestic violence. Currently this plan does not include an employer-paid component. Jobs Training - President Biden has proposed $100 billion in new spending on workforce development in his infrastructure plan. Senators are working on a bipartisan deal to increase funding for workforce development.
