At the beginning of the 2023 legislative session, Illinois Senate Bill 208—the Paid Leave for All Workers Act—passed both houses and is expected to be signed into law by the governor, according to HCAOA partner Littler. This new law will apply to all employers in Illinois, with a few exceptions, and will be a significant change for employers—including home care agencies.
Aimee Delaney, Partner at Hinshaw Law, will present at the HCAOA Illinois Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, February 7, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., CST. Ms. Delaney will discuss new and upcoming changes in employment laws – including Senate Bill 208, creating the Paid Leave for all Workers Act, which takes effect in 2024 - and how they will impact home care agencies. The virtual Illinois Chapter meeting is sponsored by HCAOA partner Careswitch, who will share a presentation called, "Walk the Line: How to Get Your Employees’ Pay Right." Register today to reserve your spot!
