The Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) sent a notice on Thursday, June 24 to home health, home service agencies, and home nursing agencies that the emergency amendments to 77 Ill. Adm. Code 245 that suspended requirements that a registered nurse or home services supervisor conduct in-person supervisory visits to a patient’s or client’s residence expired on June 19, 2021. Starting June 20, 2021 all registered nurse supervisory visits and home services supervisory visits are required as per Section 245.40(b)(3) and (b)(4), and agency supervisory visits are required under Section 245.40(c)(6)(B) to observe the care and services provided as per the home health aide’s plan of care and or home service worker’s service plan must be conducted via in-person and not electronic or telephonic means.
