What does the home care industry look like in 2021 and beyond? HCAOA Board members look into the crystal ball… Emma Dickison, HCAOA Board President, Home Helpers “2020 was an unprecedented year for the world. Private Duty Home Care played an integral role in providing care to our aging population in a 1:1 care setting in the comfort of home, which is the safest and most economical solution. There are numerous tailwinds in our industry as we continue to have an aging population, with a decline in family Caregivers able to provide care, and continued decline in facility occupancy. The future for home care will realize advances in technology to support in-home care delivery, legislative initiatives to expand access to care, expansion of programs similar to Medicare Advantage and likely some consolidation as larger organizations continue to gain market share. Those agencies that thrive will embrace innovation, leverage technology and provide an exceptional culture to attract and retain talent.”
