Yesterday, HCAOA’s Veterans Services Council sent letters to officials at the Department of Veteran Affairs and Congressional oversight committees, reiterating our industry’s commitment to providing home care to our country’s veterans and relaying the challenges members are facing in providing that care. According to Doug Robertson, council chair, this is the first step to resolving issues that many home care agencies have been experiencing in providing services under the VA for quite some time. “It’s our hope that these documents will begin the conversation to improve credentialing, authorizations, billing and payment under the VA Community Care Program,” Robertson said.
The Council also requested a meeting to discuss these challenges with officials. As issues are resolved, the VA Council will relay this information to the full membership of HCAOA.
