The West Virginia Direct Care Task Force, an initiative of AARP-West Virginia and the Department of Health and Human Services, has been working to develop legislative and regulatory recommendations to increase the state’s direct-care workforce, and improve recruitment and retention.
HCAOA West Virginia Chapter members Matt Walker and Eric Hicks participated on the AARP Direct Care Taskforce. The Task Force worked hard to ensure nothing would be burdensome on agencies and that reimbursement enhancements and optional participation were always possibilities.
Last week, a presentation of recommendations from the Task Force was shared with West Virginia lawmakers.
