Last week, HCAOA members joined members of the Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice to review recently passed legislation to license home care agencies. More than 100 agencies joined the symposium either in-person or on zoom to hear the main requirements for a license including criminal background checks, scope of services and application requirements. HCAOA will be working with the Council to provide comments to the Department of Health during the writing of the regulations to implement the law. Also, during the symposium, Representative Tim Ginter, Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives was presented with a certificate of appreciation for being the prime sponsor of the licensure bill and for his continuing support of home care.
