HCAOA recently signed on to a letter crafted by AARP thanking President Biden for prioritizing efforts to support family caregivers through his recent Executive Order. In the letter, AARP and 84 co-signing organizations including HCAOA, acknowledge that most people are, have been, or will be a family caregiver—or will need help to live independently. And, the physical, emotional, and financial challenges facing families and family caregivers cannot be overstated.
The letter also reiterates support for the 2022 National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers from the bipartisan RAISE Family Caregivers Act and urges President Biden to turn this National Strategy into meaningful action by ensuring federal agencies follow through on their commitments. It closes by urging President Biden and his administration to continue action to preserve and improve family caregivers’ own health and well-being. To read the letter, click here.
