HCAOA Pens Letter to Homeland Security Secretary Offering Home Care Employment as an Option for Ukrainian Refugees

This week, HCAOA sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security offering immediate employment in the home care industry for people from Ukraine who have been displaced by the war. Immigrants already make up a large and valued segment of the caregiving workforce. Nearly one third of the industry’s home care workers were born outside the United States.

In the letter, HCAOA CEO Vicki Hoak said, “Immediately employing Ukrainian refugees as caregivers would provide them the income they need to sustain themselves while displaced, all while helping our industry and the thousands of families we serve.”
