This week, HCAOA sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security offering immediate employment in the home care industry for people from Ukraine who have been displaced by the war. Immigrants already make up a large and valued segment of the caregiving workforce. Nearly one third of the industry’s home care workers were born outside the United States. In the letter, HCAOA CEO Vicki Hoak said, “Immediately employing Ukrainian refugees as caregivers would provide them the income they need to sustain themselves while displaced, all while helping our industry and the thousands of families we serve.”

I completely agree. We have the need and so do they. I just spoke about this very topic last week here in Illinios .We have to have more options to meet the growing need of the worker shortage in the home care space in the US. Way to go Vicki a woman after my own heart!
