HCAOA Member Appointed to Connecticut Home Care Task Force

​Mark McGoldrick, HCAOA Connecticut Chapter Chair, has been appointed to serve on a task force to study home care issues. Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed SB 262 last month to establish the task force, which will present a report on its findings and recommendations to the legislature by January 1, 2023.

McGoldrick is the owner of six Comfort Keepers offices covering most of the state of Connecticut.
 
The task force will study and report on a variety of home care issues, such as:

1. Whether any changes are necessary in qualification and registration criteria for home care agencies,
2. Changes to the system for resolving complaints about home care agencies,
3. Training and recruitment methods of home care agencies,
4. Public awareness and education strategies that may be needed to ensure clients can locate and choose home care agencies providing quality services,
5. Services home care agencies are authorized to provide, services such agencies advertise and whether additional limitations are needed on services such agencies may advertise, and
6. Best practices to ensure quality home care services.
