HCAOA Connecticut Chapter Vice Chairman Jonah Francis Talks Home Care on Radio Program

Jonah Francis, president and owner of Pansy Homecare Services, LLC. in West Hartford and vice chair of the HCAOA Connecticut Chapter, discussed the benefits of home care for seniors aging in place and public policy affecting the industry in a recent interview on WTIC-AM 1080, the state’s flagship radio station.

“Home just seems like the best place [for seniors] to be,” said Mr. Francis on Dec. 29, 2023, as a guest on the Brian & Company radio program. People “have created this environment that is conducive towards your health, your life,” and memories in the home.

In the segment, Mr. Francis covered several policy issues important to HCAOA and the CT Chapter, including economics and demographics of private pay clients and consumers participating in the Medicaid waiver program; the benefits of homemaker-companion agencies to seniors, including safety, oversight, and training of caregivers and care for persons experiencing memory difficulties; and the state’s transition to regulation and oversight of HCAs from the Department of Consumer Protection to the Department of Public Health.

“At the end of the day, we are keeping people safe,” said Mr. Francis.
