Georgia: Updated Rule for Fingerprint Criminal Background Checks from Department of Community Health12/7/2022 Effective November 21, 2022, the Georgia Department of Community Health is modifying the previous variance which became effective October 1, 2020. The updated rule variance applies to Chapter 111-8-12.05(1)(e) and is issued under the authority of the February 18, 2021, Executive Order issued by Governor Kemp and subsequent applicable Executive Orders. Implementation Delay of Rule 111-8-12-.05(1)(e). The Department is delaying the effective date of Rule 111-8-12.05(1)(e) from November 30, 2022, to January 13, 2023. Existing owners, administrators, on-site managers, directors, and direct access employees (who were in place prior to October 1, 2019) must submit a fingerprint record check application on or before January 13, 2023.
Please note that all facilities and providers listed herein are encouraged to submit a fingerprint record check application prior to the extended deadline date of January 13, 2023. All facilities may start the submissions of fingerprint record check application background checks immediately. More information on this change will be posted on the Department’s website.
