Georgia Chapter Encourages Advocacy Steps for Members

HCAOA and the Georgia Chapter ask members to consider the following advocacy items as we lead up to Election Day and the 2023 Legislative Session:

1. If you don’t already know your elected officials – county, city, state, or Federal – please get to know them now. Click here and scroll down to the third block on the right to find out who your elected officials and candidates are. 
2. Bring the Vote Home is a national HCAOA campaign to make our elected officials aware of the value of home care by inviting them into the homes of our clients. HCAOA has created all the necessary paperwork and procedures to lead individual members through this advocacy process. Click here to access all the materials.
3. The Georgia Chapter has been compiling facts on the Georgia home care industry. We will release key industry data that you can use in your contacts with your local elected officials. Please add your individual agency data to tie it to local elected official’s home district.
4. If you have not already done so, please get active with your local Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and Workforce Development Board. Georgia has twelve (12) regional commissions with each having a regional AAA and a separate Workforce Development Board.
