The HCAOA Georgia Chapter held a State Conference at the historic Freight Depot across from the State Capitol last week. Chapter Legislative Chair Dave Lamb presented information on advocating for a 10 percent Medicaid Rate increase for home- and community-based services (HCBS) that is supported by a newly formed coalition consisting of HCAOA, Leading Age, Georgia Association of Community Care Providers (GACCP), and the Alzheimer’s Association. Members operating in Georgia are urged to send a message to their lawmaker by clicking here.
Greg Bean, Vice President of Business Development, Paradigm Senior Services, shared important information regarding veteran services and benefits. Eddie Grogan, Georgia Chapter Chair, and Rusty Paul, Georgia Chapter lobbyist, also spoke and encouraged members to become engaged in developing relationships with their state legislators. HCAOA thanks the sponsors of the HCAOA Georgia Chapter Conference: AxisCare, Paradigm Senior Services, Strategic Tax Planning, Viventium and National Enrollment Services.

The number of featured speakers that all cancelled was a disappointment and a poor experience. HCAOA must put more effort on confirming speakers in the future.
