Federal Bills Benefiting Home Care Near the Finish Line – We Need Your Help!

HCAOA is constantly watching many bills in Washington, D.C. Two bills that HCAOA supports are close to passing, but HCAOA needs your help to get them across the finish line!

Help us share the importance of the Elizabeth Dole Home and Community Based Services for Veterans and Caregivers Act (H.R. 6823) and the Enhancing America Retirement Now (EARN) Act (S. 4808) bills with our legislators.

The Elizabeth Dole Home and Community Based Services for Veterans and Caregivers Act would increase the cap on how much the VA can pay for the cost of home care from 65% of the cost of nursing home care to 100%. This is a significant difference! Our nation’s veterans deserve to age comfortably and with dignity in their own homes. The EARN Act would permit retirement plans to distribute up to $2,500 per year to pay premiums for specified long-term care insurance contracts, among many other things. Distributions from retirement plans and IRAs to pay these premiums would be exempt from the additional 10% tax on early withdrawals.
