HCAOA is proud to announce that the Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act has passed the U.S. House of Representatives!
Under the bill, the cost of providing noninstitutional alternatives to nursing home care generally may not exceed 100% of the cost that would have been incurred if a veteran had been furnished VA nursing home care. (Under current law, these expenditures are limited to 65% of the cost.)
While the bill must still be passed by the U.S. Senate and signed by President Biden to become law, this is an amazing step and a testament to the power of grassroots advocacy. The thousands of messages HCAOA members sent in support of the bill made a huge difference!
HCAOA will continue to advocate for the bill in the U.S. Senate and will keep you apprised of next steps.
Thank you for your support!
