On Monday, HCAOA convened its advocacy team of lobbyists to review each state’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan and how frontline home care workers are included. There are significant variations in plans from state to state, however there is one uniform takeaway: all states have identified home care workers as a priority to receive the vaccine, usually referred to as Phase 1A (1B) in state distribution plans. However, despite this priority many members are reporting that their states have not yet begun to vaccinate home care workers. There is confusion about what home care organizations should be doing right now to ensure that their workers receive the vaccine. HCAOA is hoping to help! Liberty Partners Group, which manages the Partnership for Medicaid Home-Based Care, has developed a state-by-state grid with details on each state's vaccination plan, applicable links to register, and contact information. Please note that this information is fluid and changes frequently, however HCAOA remains committed to assisting members obtain the vaccine for frontline workers and will continue to provide updates as we have them.
