8 in 10 Registered Voters Support Providing Family Caregivers with Tax Credit

​AARP released a new poll of registered voters age 50 and older that shows overwhelming support for providing family caregivers with a tax credit aligning with details of the Credit for Caring Act (S. 1670/H.R. 3321). A few highlights from the poll include: 

• 8 in 10 registered voters support providing family caregivers who work with a tax credit of up to $5,000
• The support is bipartisan– while 84% of all respondents support the tax credit, 78% of Republicans, 93% of Democrats and 83% of independents favor this assistance for the nation's family caregivers.
• The majority of family caregivers provide assistance while working either full- or part-time outside the home. In fact, of the 44 % of respondents who said they had been a family caregiver, 69% said they had worked.
