The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has released the preliminary 2023 Fee Schedule for the Community Care Network. The rates on the schedule will not be effective until February 1, 2023. The current fee schedule will remain in effect until then. This schedule includes reimbursement rates for home care services. CLICK HERE to view the 2023 preliminary fee schedule.

If a rate in your area experienced a detrimental decrease, please contact Eric Reinarman, HCAOA Vice President of Government Affairs, this week. The HCAOA VA Advisory Council will request the VA leadership to reconsider the reimbursement amount. Please understand that the VA is not obligated to make any adjustments to the preliminary schedule. Please provide a rationale for any additional amount needed in that market.

Florida’s VA reimbursement rate for 2023 is one of the lowest in the country at $31.60. This rate is acceptable for Homemaker/Companions (but still below other states). The same rate is paid to Nurse’s Aides and is below market rates (low) for those agencies providing Nurse’s Aides for Personal Care. The majority of other states and locales have VA reimbursement rates that are significantly higher.
