100+ Members Participate in Info-Packed Connecticut Chapter Conference

​More than 100 home care agency owners and employees participated in the full-day HCAOA Connecticut Chapter Conference last week. Attendees heard from Chapter leaders, lawmakers, public officials and others in the industry about new laws and policies affecting the home care industry, business owners, employees and consumers.

​Key HCAOA staff Jennifer Battista, Chief Operating Officer, and Austin Schneider, Chapter Relations Director, also attended and participated in the conference.

During the conference, Chapter Chair Marlene Chickerella presented Outstanding Leadership Awards to Sen. Lisa Seminara for her support of the home care industry, and to former Chapter Chair Mark McGoldrick, who served as co-chair of the state’s Homemaker Companion Task Force, accepted posthumously on his behalf by his widow, Carolyn McGoldrick.
 
Following the full-day program, many attendees gathered for an informal reception.
 
“The conference provided attendees with an opportunity to hear from industry experts, state officials and many others about new laws, policies and trends concerning in-home personal care,” Chickarella said. Chapter Vice Chair Jonah Francis added, “It was an ideal opportunity to stay informed and network with industry colleagues and peers. Attendees really enjoyed the program.”
