Chief Executive Officer

HCAOA is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as the CEO of our Home Care Association. As the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and growth of the association. You will work closely with the Board of Directors, industry stakeholders, government officials, and member agencies to champion the home care industry and drive positive change.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: 
    • Develop and execute a clear vision and strategic plan for the association's growth and impact.
    • Provide effective leadership, guidance, and support to the association's staff and volunteers.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the organization.
  • Advocacy and Representation:
    • Represent the association and its members to government entities, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
    • Advocate for policies and legislation that promote the growth and sustainability of the home care industry.
    • Build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders to further the association's mission.
  • Member Engagement and Support:
    • Foster strong relationships with member agencies, addressing their needs, and providing resources and support.
    • Promote networking opportunities and knowledge sharing among members to enhance best practices in home care.
    • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
  • Financial Management and Resource Development:
    • Ensure the association's financial sustainability through effective budgeting, financial planning, and fundraising efforts.
    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships to support the association's programs and initiatives.
    • Oversee the development and execution of fundraising campaigns and grant applications.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration, business, public policy) is required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a healthcare association or trade association.
  • Strong knowledge of the home care industry, including its regulations, challenges, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing successful strategies.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team and lead through change.
  • A passion for improving the quality of care and services in the home care industry.

Compensation:
  • Salary will be DOQ and DOE

Note: This position will be based in the Washington DC Area.
  • Due to the nature of the role, occasional travel will be required. The Position will spend 90% of their time in an office environment indoors. This will require time both spent at a computer station for office work and standing.
  • The usual business hours for this role will be Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, however this role will require some evening and weekends to meet job requirements.
  • Role may require frequent standing, walking, sitting, keyboarding, and driving. Occasional twisting, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting. Seldom work above shoulders, and operation of equipment.
  • Position will require the employee to talk and hear.
  • Lifting can range from frequent 10 lbs. or less to seldom lifting of greater than 50 lbs.
