​The Home Care Association of America proudly sponsors the Sheila McMackin Leadership Award and the Allen Hager Legislative Award, to be presented at the Annual Leadership Conference, September 17-19 at the Hilton Orlando.

These awards honor and recognize HCAOA leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities in promoting the home care industry and advocating for legislation that impacts home care.

Sheila McMackin Leadership Award

This award honors and recognizes an HCAOA Member who demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities in promoting the home care industry.

Eligibility 
Nominee must:

• Be an HCAOA Member for at least five years
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills by serving on a national committee/task force, Board of Directors or as a Chapter officer.  
• Be a nationally-recognized leader by peers
• Display integrity and high standards of ethical behavior in his/her everyday performance as a home care organization leader
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills by spearheading various HCAOA activities that resulted in successful outcomes

Allen Hager Legislative Award

​This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact on policy or legislation impacting the home care industry.  

Eligibility 
Nominee must:

• Be an HCAOA Member for at least 5 years
• Actively participate in a state chapter, national committee or task force, or HCAOA Board of Directors
• Exhibit a high degree of professionalism, competence and integrity in serving the chapter/association
• Actively work with other members to establish common ground, consensus and a united voice on issues
• Have experience in meeting with lawmakers to educate and garner their support on proposed legislation
