South Carolina’s Senate is currently finalizing the state budget, and key decisions being made now will directly impact access to care for thousands of individuals and families across the state. The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has requested $14.9 million in funding for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), including a $1.00 reimbursement rate increase for personal care and private duty nursing services.

But the House version of the budget did not fully fund this request. The Senate now has an opportunity to ensure this investment is included, but they need to hear from the home care community.
