The HCAOA Georgia Chapter conference was held last week at The Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, GA, with more than 80 members registered. Attendees enjoyed a full day of state legislative updates from Appropriations Chair Senator Blake Tillery (R-19), Vidalia, and Human Relations & Aging Chair Representative Jesse Petrea (R-166), Savannah. An in-depth VA update from Paradigm, and a special session with representatives from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and Denny Wear and Kristin Hill from Idemia addressing the fingerprinting vendor challenges.
Idemia currently has 83 enrollment centers across Georgia, with 21 new locations pending. Services offered include printing and enrollment for live scans and card scans for applicants who are out of state or for those unable to make it to an enrollment center to scan completed fingerprint cards. Through the Agency Portal CARES, home care providers can review applicant background checks. Providers can expect results of fingerprint submission to be posted within 15 hours on average. This does not include the amount of time for the agency to review and provide determination. Hill noted that private print sites are not available at this time, but Idemia is working toward this solution with an estimated rollout in six months. Thank you to all the HCAOA members who joined us for this insightful event. We look forward to seeing you again in 2026! HCAOA would also like to thank our conference sponsors Paradigm and Sensi.AI for your support. To view the conference photos, visit the 2025 GA Chapter Conference Facebook album.
