HCAOA is excited to welcome Kristen Wheeler as the new Senior Director, Membership Strategy & Industry Partnerships. With more than two decades of experience in the private pay home care sector, Kristen brings a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing home care providers today. She joins HCAOA with a clear mission: to strengthen the value of membership, foster strategic relationships across the industry, and ensure that every member agency feels connected, supported, and informed. In her new role, Kristen will focus on enhancing member engagement, identifying new opportunities for collaboration, and helping grow and support HCAOA’s national network of state chapters. She will also lead efforts to cultivate meaningful partnerships that bring tangible benefits to members through new resources, educational offerings, and industry insights.
Kristen’s career in home care began in 2004, when she helped launch a private duty program for a Medicare-certified agency in Florida. Since then, she has co-owned an independent agency and served in leadership roles with both state and national associations, including the Home Care Association of Florida and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (now the National Alliance for Care at Home). “Home care providers do incredibly meaningful work under increasingly complex conditions. My goal is to make sure our members have what they need to thrive: strong advocacy, a supportive peer network, access to smart business tools, and a clear voice in the future of our industry,” she said.
