During the National Home Care Conference, HCAOA announced a new benefit coming in 2025: online communities for all state chapters, which will allow members to connect and collaborate on advocacy, business, operations, or any topic with ease year-round. This new benefit will round out an already robust list of member benefits.

HCAOA joined NAHC, LeadingAge, ANCOR, and other industry leaders for a quarterly meeting with the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) last week as CMS continues to seek feedback regarding the implementation of the Medicaid Access Rule. Throughout the meeting, our coalition of industry leaders continued to stress the potential impact of the 80/20 provision on providers and provided recommendations for sub-regulatory guidance that has yet to be articulated by CMS, such as reporting and audit requirements, to ensure state-by-state continuity in implementation and to mitigate unnecessary administrative burden on providers.

HCAOA announced the 2024 National Caregiver of the Year last week at the National Home Care Conference in Seattle/Bellevue. Angela Chavez, a caregiver with Gold Star Home Care in Glendale, AZ, was honored in front of industry leaders. Chavez’s unwavering dedication, compassion, and skill set her apart among more than 500 nominees from all 50 states.
