WHY IT MATTERS

Speak Up for Home Care

As a home care agency owner, you live the consequences of policy decisions every day. National Home Care Advocacy Day gives you the opportunity to put a face and a story to the impact of those laws and policies, in the offices of the people who make those decisions.

Meet Your Legislators in Person

No letter carries the weight of a direct conversation. HCAOA schedules your meetings — you just show up, share your story, and let legislators hear from the people on the front lines of home care.

Amplify a Unified Industry Voice

Members from 30+ states arrive with one coordinated message. That collective presence tells lawmakers home care is a constituency worth taking seriously.

Get Fully Prepared — We Handle the Details

Policy briefings, talking points, leave-behind materials, and a training webinar are all provided. You'll walk into your meetings ready and confident.

Protect Your Business & Your Clients

Medicaid funding, workforce policy, reimbursement rates — these decisions are made in Washington. Your presence at the table shapes them.

Connect with Peers from Across the Country

Agency owners from 30+ states. The conversations over the Welcome Reception and Training Breakfast are as valuable as the Hill meetings themselves.

Be Part of Something That Works

Members who advocate consistently call Advocacy Day one of the most meaningful things they do as an HCAOA member. You'll leave energized and better connected to the industry you're building.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend?

Advocacy Day is designed for HCAOA member agency owners, executives, and senior leaders. Whether you're a seasoned advocate or attending for the first time, there's a place for you on Capitol Hill.
Do I need advocacy or policy experience?
Not at all. HCAOA prepares every attendee with comprehensive issue briefs, talking points, and a training webinar before the event. Many of our most effective advocates attended for the first time with no prior lobbying experience.
Will HCAOA schedule my Hill meetings?

Yes — for all registrants who sign up by March 31. HCAOA coordinates directly with congressional offices to schedule meetings with your senators and representative based on your state and district.
What should I expect at my Hill meetings?

Most meetings are 15–30 minutes and may be with a legislator directly or a member of their legislative staff. You'll receive issue briefs and attend the Training Breakfast to prepare. The April 8 webinar will walk you through exactly what to expect.
Can I attend if I miss the March 31 deadline?
Yes, you can still register after March 31. The deadline is in place to give HCAOA staff enough time to schedule everyone's meetings in advance of the trip. But if you can't make that cutoff, we still want your voice in Washington.
