The HCAOA Alabama chapter met via conference call on October 17, 2017 for a virtual town hall meeting. The call was led by HCAOA Alabama Chair, Andy Luedecke of SYNERGY HomeCare and Vice Chair, Stephaine Buffaloe of Home Instead Senior Care. Government Affairs Director for Home Instead Senior Care, Matt Boever was also on the call and gave a brief rundown of the Federal legislation that could impact home care providers. The chapter discussed what their goals would be for the coming year, with a focus on getting ahead of any potential licensing legislation that might be brewing in the state capitol. The chapter also discussed how other state chapters have addressed the issue of registries and are considering different ideas regarding how to best follow the success of the HCAOA Georgia chapter in eliminating registries from the home care market.
