The first of these will be on March 3-4, 2020, and will focus on possible Medicare expansion covering home care services, such as Medigap which has been discussed in hearings on Capitol Hill, and other key tax related bills that would aid family caregivers in keeping loved ones at home for as long as possible.
The focus for this fly-in will be the key Congressional Committees handling Medicare, Medicaid and tax related legislation - the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee. If you aren’t sure you can click on previous links to determine if your Representative or Senators are members of these important committees.
HCAOA members who have representation on the Finance and/or Ways and Means Committee should click HERE to register. A block of rooms has been reserved at The Hamilton Hotel for a discounted rate of $279 for the night of March 3 as well as the three nights preceding or three nights after our event. The phone number for The Hamilton Hotel is (866) 407-1764.
A briefing session is scheduled from 3-4:30 p.m. on March 3, in a meeting room at the hotel. During this session, we will review the bills, provide background information and materials and offer other tips for advocacy. Following the briefing, HCAOA will host a reception and dinner for attendees, and the next day, March 4, HCAOA members will go the Capitol Hill to meet with their respective lawmaker.
